Indian Spiced Lamb-Balls

About 24 cocktail size meatballs

Warning – These little Indian spiced lamb bites pack a spicy punch – served with a wee bit of sweet preserve they are highly addictive! This was a catering menu item staple of mine for many events, and they are so great to have on hand in the freezer, an easy do ahead which every party planner likes!


Ingredients

1 lb ground lamb

1 lb ground pork

2 eggs – lightly whisked

¼ cup preserves

1 cup breadcrumbs

2 jalapenos finely chopped

3 cloves of garlic minced

1 cup chopped cilantro

2 Tbsp Garam Masala

1 Tbsp ground ginger

2 tsp salt

1 tsp cayenne pepper


Steps

Heat oven to 350. Combine and gently mix all ingredients well to fully blend flavours. Form into small one bite round balls. Heat 1 Tbsp Olive oil in frying pan and sear lamb-balls until evenly browned all over, transfer to baking dish or sheet pan and finish in oven for 10 – 15 minutes or until cooked through.

Serve hot with preserves.
