Warning – These little Indian spiced lamb bites pack a spicy punch – served with a wee bit of sweet preserve they are highly addictive! This was a catering menu item staple of mine for many events, and they are so great to have on hand in the freezer, an easy do ahead which every party planner likes!
1 lb ground lamb
1 lb ground pork
2 eggs – lightly whisked
¼ cup preserves
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 jalapenos finely chopped
3 cloves of garlic minced
1 cup chopped cilantro
2 Tbsp Garam Masala
1 Tbsp ground ginger
2 tsp salt
1 tsp cayenne pepper
Heat oven to 350. Combine and gently mix all ingredients well to fully blend flavours. Form into small one bite round balls. Heat 1 Tbsp Olive oil in frying pan and sear lamb-balls until evenly browned all over, transfer to baking dish or sheet pan and finish in oven for 10 – 15 minutes or until cooked through.
Serve hot with preserves.
